Mr. Haberstock is a Senior Wetlands Biologist with Kleinschmidt. He received a Masters degree with concentration in ecosystem ecology in 1990 from the Yale University School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. In 1985, he received a B.A. degree from St. Lawrence University. Mr. Haberstock is a Certified Professional Wetland Scientist through the Society of Wetland Scientists.
Mr. Haberstock specializes in managing and carrying-out natural resource studies involving aquatic, wetland and upland habitats, and including biotic (botanical and wildlife) and abiotic (soils, hydrology, geology) resources. He has managed and been closely involved in the design and implementation of wetland, watercourse, riparian buffer mitigation and restoration projects. He routinely conducts projects involving the evaluation and delineation of wetlands and wetland impact analysis. He is also experienced with state and federal environmental permitting. Mr. Haberstock routinely conducts natural resource assessments related to projects along rivers, water bodies, and coastal shorelines. He is familiar with the NEPA process and has participated in the preparation of several EIS's, completing the wetland, wildlife, vegetation and soils/geology portions of the application documents as well as the detailed biological studies forming the basis of EIS conclusions. He also has experience in wildlife habitat assessments, threatened and endangered species surveys, botanical inventories, wetland functional analyses, and streambank erosion assessments. Since joining the Kleinschmidt team in 1996, he has worked on dozens of hydroelectric projects including relicensing support, project upgrades, and compliance projects.
Mr. Haberstock participates in the following memberships and associations: Somerset County Soil and Water Conservation District (Board of Directors), Society of Wetland Scientists, Maine Association of Wetland Scientists, the American Water Resources Association (Reviewer), and Sebasticook River Watershed Association (Board of Directors).
