Fish Passage Services
Kleinschmidt has provided biological and engineering fish passage services for more than 90 individual dam projects located throughout
the United States. Kleinschmidt is widely respected for its management
of assessments concerned with fish entrainment at hydropower facilities
and its conceptual and final design work for fish passage facilities.
Kleinschmidt’s integration of fisheries biologists and engineers provides
an exceptional capability for solving problems involving mitigation of
fisheries impacts and enhancement of fisheries resources. Kleinschmidt
engineers have provided conceptual and final design for fish passage
facilities which include fish lifts, trapping facilities, downstream
passage systems, and fish ladders. Based on this experience, Kleinschmidt
has developed one of the most respected fish passage study and design
teams in the nation.
